Practicing Yoga

I have been dying (not literally though) to try Yoga  for quite some time  so when I saw a coupon for 150 pesos session a couple of months ago, I bought 4 coupons to try it out and was hooked! I have just finished a class card meaning 12 sessions and will begin a new class card next week.

These are some of the positions that we are doing in class. It doesn't include the back bending and the more challenging ones but then again the posters I found online does not match what we are doing.

When I first started, I haven't been able to do most of properly. I did shortcuts and couldn't concentrate on holding a position for long. Now I can say that I can hold a position as long as I clear my mind of everything and just be aware of what I am doing. What I can't do though is a head stand

The last session I have, our instructor had us try the head stand once again. It was hard and I have this annoying tendency to lean too much and put my chest out too much. I'll try to do it better next time and hopefully I can hold it long enough.

Off to read

Just got my November issues for Women's Health and Cosmo and I am loving the articles that they have.
I have been collecting Cosmo since 2000 so you could imagine how many of these babies I have in my closet. To answer your question, too many to count so I gave the oldest issues away to my  neighbors.

Loving their article about jeans and since my black one just gave out, now I know what to shop for and what to pair them with :)

Haven't read all of the articles yet since I was distracted by the jeans section that they have showcased.

This is the other magazine that I got hooked on.I have started to collect them last 2009 because I wanted to modify my lifestyle into something healthier.Friends always tease me about being diet conscious or something to that effect. But then again it doesn't hurt to be cautious on what to eat and to make sure that we try to exercise as much as we can. After all we are not getting any younger so might as well change for the better before it's too late.

I was intrigued on their article on how I can lose 5, 10,5 or 20 pounds and now I am thinking when I can do the exercises that are illustrated. Some looks easy enough while some looks ummm challenging.

I'll be reading them now after this post since I have just  skimmed sections of it while I was in the office. So see yah tomorrow!

Groupons, Online deals etc

You probably have noticed the rise of online sites featuring vouchers for various gadgets, tickets and services. Cashcashpinoy, dealdozen, Megadeals to name a few are some of the sites that are really popular today. I am not sure who was the genius behind this or when it started but then again I just woke up ( not literally though)that they are all over the place.

To clarify, I am not endorsing any of them. The last time that I have tried availing one of the vouchers offered there was a couple of months ago and I didn't regret it. Up until now, I still go to the place that I have discovered because of that site.

Some of the advantages of looking into the sites are the following

  • Discounts--Most of them have discounts up until 80% for services, gadgets and vacation  packages. Now who could resist those things right?
  • Discover new places to explore, shop or eat at ---- if you're a KFC fan (ehem!) and is on the verge of growing your own set of chicken wings at your back, then you can have the capability to now try new restos, or if you always shop at the Jag store then you can now try going to Levis :)
  • Save and Splurge at the same time-- I know it's ironic to find those two words together but then again if your usual facial ranges from 400 to 500 and you can get it for half the price then you are successful  on this one :)

If there are good things then to be fair, I will also need to explain the disadvantages just so you know what you're getting into LOL

  • Budget for the week/month/year will be ruined----if it's not planned and it's just something you wanted to try out of the blue then you may end up spending the cash that you have allotted for next week thereby making you financially crippled for some time.
  • It might not be worth it after  all-- If you have been lured there by the pics and testimonials only to find out it's far from what it says on the site. You have just been duped girl and no money back service as well if you are not satisfied. You bought it and paid for it so it's a done deal.
So now that I have explained the good and the bad side of those sites. What I can say is that take advantage of the discounts that you can fit on your budget.Be very wise on choosing which deal you think is worth it. If it's something that is renowned to have good feedback from regular cust then go ahead and avail it.If you have your doubts and the deal seems too good to be true then research research and research.

Gaga over NBS

I always have this habit of browsing over the 3 big *B's online sites ( bookstores) during my spare time.Anticipating as to which of them would be the first to release the books that I am drooling over on Amazon. Call me a book worm or a nerd but I always get that giddy feeling when browsing for new books to read and then finding out that they are sold locally and I could be one of the first few who will get to read it. Heaven!
So if you happen to be on a internet shop and hear someone suddenly laugh out loud and say "YES!". It might just be me, finding out my vampire book is available in one of our local bookstores.

My favorite bookstore for now is National Bookstore. Every time I go there,I would always find a book that I thought would not come for a few months and the best part is somehow I would be the lucky one who finds books with incorrect barcodes.

There was this one time that I saw a hardbound copy Morgannville Ghost Town on one of their shelves. When i turned it around to check the price. My jaw literally dropped for a couple of minutes. It's price tag is 285 pesos!!!!  So i grabbed it right away and made my way to the cashier. Since I am  the first to buy that book. They gave it to me at that price tag.

The other day on NBS, I found a copy of the next book on the Morganville Series with another case of an incorrect Barcode. Two of them actually, but then again 399 pesos is somewhat the amount i usually pay  for a paperback version. When I paid for it at the cashier, it was then that i found out that it was supposed to be 406 pesos. Maybe I should apply for Book Keeping since this is the 2nd time. LOL

So my advice to those book addicts like me, be vigilant in searching for the books that you want. Be it on NBS, FB or on PB.You'll never know what you'll find and the price may not be as you expect it to be.

Happy Reading :P

Moving on

I was rummaging my inbox for something to read and i came across an article written by Paulo Coelho. It deals with closing chapters of your life that you think is not working anymore and you're just dragging it in the hopes that it will be back to it's original state.

In short *chuckles* it deals with learning how to move on. Yeah i know that a lot of articles already tackled that topic but it doesn't hurt to listen to the advise of someone that is not only famous but can provide a guy's opinion on how you overcome something like this.

Here are some excerpts that i think we girls should do to get out of this emotional state :)

"One always has to know when a stage comes to an end.

If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through. Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won’t take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that.

None of us can be in the present and the past at the same time, not even when we try to understand the things that happen to us. What has passed will not return: we cannot for ever be children, late adolescents, sons that feel guilt or rancor towards our parents, lovers who day and night relive an affair with someone who has gone away and has not the least intention of coming back.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts - and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood. Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the “ideal moment.” Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person - nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are"

I am a woman

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said, "When I made the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Major Mistake

This was shared by a friend of mine. I can somehow relate to it so i posted this on my Facebook wall. Hope the guys out there don't make this kind of mistake.

Boy: I broke up with her.

His Best Friend: What happened?

Boy: She’s just too much for me.

His Best Friend: What makes you say that? What did she do wrong?

Boy: Well, …for one.. She only cared about her appearance. Always had to look good, always took forever to get dressed! So insecure..

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she wanted to keep your eyeslocked on her? She wanted you to see that you have the prettiest girl under your sleeve and not think otherwise? I see..

Boy: Oh.. Well.. She’d often call me or text me asking where I am, who I’m with, telling me not to smoke, not to drink. She’s so clingy!

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she cares about your well being? Because she cares about you a lot? And her greatest fear is losing you. I see..

Boy: But.. Uhh.. Well, she’d always cry when I say something slightly mean. She can’t handle anything. She’s a crybaby!

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she has feelings? And because she just wanted to hear you say you love her? I see..

Boy: I.. Well! You know, she’d get jealous easily. I could barely talk to other girls! She’s so annoying! I had to hide it from her.

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she just wanted you to commit to her? She thought you were faithful, but you lied so she could find out later and hurt even more? She just wanted the guy she loves the most to love only her. I
see..
Boy: Well, she..
His Best Friend: You broke up with her because she’s good for you? She just wanted the best for you? She’s broken now because you were selfish. Are you proud?

Boy: I broke her heart.. Because I couldn’t see what was happening.. What happened to me?
His Best Friend: You lost the girl that loved you like no one else could. You see? You didn’t want her when all she ever wanted was you. THAT’S what happened..

I have discovered lomography after viewing breath taking photos online.I was so awestruck that I decided to take it up as a hobby.I then searched online for some cameras that i can buy so I can immediately take pictures. I know that it will take some time before I can shoot pictures as gorgeous as those I have seen online but what the heck.

It's me again!

Oooops sorry for publishing an empty post. I don't know what happen. I was just typing away and then all of the sudden the page freezes and everything I wrote disappeared.Anyway as I was saying earlier on the post that was supposed to be published, I am now a regular employee in a company that I never thought I'd be in. I guess you can chalk it up as pure luck, coincidence or I am really meant to be hired there.

The work I am handling has been passed along to somebody who has more experience when it comes to the account and though I am happy that no longer have to deal with a demanding client, it is insulting in a way  to know that the client is literally begging the new one to take over my reports.

Granted I made a couple of mistakes and when I was doing so well, they had to well take it out of my hands.Oh well business is business.

Hi guys sorry for being away for so long.I am trying to concentrate on my new job right now and whew info overload. My boss is going to let me handle an account so I have a week to learn all of them. She will be on leave today and tomorrow so I have to really digest everything she taught me so I can do all those reports.

Anyways, I just learn that my previous department from my previous job now employs only one employee and god knows where they would terminate the remaining one. In a way, what they did to me back then came back to haunt them literally so right now they are the one jobless while I am currently employed Ha ha!

Haven't been able to complete my medical because the first step involves a stool sample which I don't carry eveyrday( who does anyway lol ) and since I am on graveyard shift in Mandaluyong and the clinic is on Makati...go figure.

And the new book from the Morganville Vampire series is now available on National Bookstore for 249 pesos. The title is Kiss of Death and after I saw it, I immediately bought one.I am halfway already so I think if I go on reading it, it wont last till tomorrow hehhehe.

I have set up my blog with an email address so I can just email in my entries however I haven't had the time to do an entry since I have of reports to learn.Maybe when I know all of them then I can do a blog entry there...

Anyways I gotta sleep....thanks for those who are continually visiting my site.I appreciate it very much mwah!

Books,Books and More books

Hi guys! Sorry I wasn't able to blog for a day or two.I have been adjusting to my graveyard shift so by the time I get home, I'm dead on my feet and all I want to do is sleep.Anyways I have been searching for a couple of books that I  would like to sink my teeth into when payday comes. So far here are some that I am contemplating to buy

This is the sequel to ....yeah Thirst 1 hehhehe.Just to give you an overview. The 1st book talks about Alisa and her journey as a vampire. How she came to be one and her quest to stay alive since there is another vampire who is out there to kill her to keep a promise. She became human in the end and that is where Book 2 picks up the story.I was able to see copies of this on National Bookstore on the children's section but I haven't decided on if I will buy it or not since I wasn't that hooked on the First one. Every book contains 3 books so it will be thick as the Twlight Hardbound book.

I have almost picked up this book on National Bookstore as well but since I am tight on the budget that day.I dropped it and turn my back away so I won't be forced to go beyond what I can spend.Based on the cover at the back  Its a love story between a human  who turned into a vampire and a guardian angel who became a fallen angel because he loved and attempted to save Miranda from becoming a creature of the night. I haven't read any review on this one but I find the plot interesting.Human becoming a vampire who is loved by an angel who lost his wings and later on becomes her assistant. I think it's below 400 pesos and the price range is the same for the Thirst 2 book. Though this is a bit thin compared to thirst

The Blue Blood Series by Melissa Dela Cruz who is incidentally a pinay wrote this series.I remembered recommending this to a co-worker because this series is New York Best Seller plus the fact that it is about vampires which is my favorite genre for now.Ironically, she was the first to buy the series and is now urging me to buy it weird.Based on the reviews that I have read it is like gossip girl meets Twilight or something like that since the characters in the story came from a wealthy family. The Van Allen Legacy is the last book that came out from the series. It retails 325 pesos per paperback on National Book store.I think early on they were selling it for 299 per paperback so I'm not sure why they changed the price.I saw the first book with the price of 299 pesos so if you can find one there, better buy it because all the other books are retailing for 325.The 4th book is a hardcover so it the price will be 600 plus. There is also a 5th book scheduled to be released Oct 5 this year titled Misguided  Angels  so better watch out for it as well.
The title of this book is Hush, Hush. Well based from the cover, you guessed right another angel novel. Based on the reviews that I have read this is like the plot of Twilight except that the guy is a fallen angel. This is also a New York Times Bestseller so it is safe to assume that it will be a good read as well. Since there is no paperback version for this book, the price tag for this is 600 plus. There is a sequel of this book named Crescendo however the date for the released is yet to be announced.

I'll continue to enumerate my other want to read list tomorrow.I'm dead tired so see you later guys mwah!

I'm down to zero again

I don't know what happened but I just lost my page rank.I was surprised when saw a question mark in place of the 1 that I had there so I searched for my site on Google to check if I was banned but I wasn't.I don't know how it was reduced to this but I did read that linking to penalized sites will drag me down.So if I am linking my blogs to those who had no page rank will it also cause this ?

This is really making me sad....

Adjusting

Hi guys! Just woke up actually I wasn't able to sleep that well.My eyes are closed but I can hear everything that going around and with the heat, every inch of me is sweating like I am running a marathon while lying on the sofa.
The book I ordered came in around 3pm so when I saw the package, I immediately ripped it open and read the important parts.Since I barely slept, the parts I read didn't made an impact so it's as if I didn't read at all.

My shift will start around 9pm and the HR told me to be there 30 minutes early for my i.d.I don't know if my i.d will be there when I go there or if I will need to bring along a picture and then they will process it while I am waiting.Anyways, I don't know what to expect there.Maybe I will be introduced to my other peers and then shadow them so I will know what to do or I will be shown a corner and then be given a set of instructions to do during my shift. Arrrgh sorry I know I'm kinda being too paranoid and with me being bum for more than 3 months,I can;t help but think of what will happen.

Shoot it's already 6 so I better prepare so I can be there by 8:30.Maybe i'll grab a big ole bottle of coke there so I won't get sleepy. I'll let you know what happen tomorrow.Till next time!

Learning Excel

Since I am applying for a job that involves Excel,I am trying my best to learn it as much as I could. My skills on that area is very limited so I often had difficulty passing the test even though I did well on the initial and final interview.

I found a book on Ebay for 580 pesos and I'm looking forward to learning from it as well when I successfully pay for the item.Tried to pay using PayPal however when I enter the email it says that the information is not complete.I contacted the seller so I can confirm that I am entering the correct information so I can proceed.

Wish me luck on getting the book and learning more about excel okay!

Seven Last words of Jesus

THE FIRST WORD
When they came to the place called "The Skull," they nailed Jesus to the cross there, and the two criminals, one on his right and one on his left. Jesus said, "Forgive them, Father! They know not what they do."
Luke 23:33-34
THE SECOND WORD
One of the criminals hanging there threw insults at him: "Aren't you the messiah? Save yourself and us!" The other one, however, rebuked him, saying: "Don't you fear God? Here we are all under the same sentence. Ours, however, is only right, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did; but he has done no wrong." And he said to Jesus, "Remember me, Jesus, when you come as King!" Jesus said to him, "I tell you this: Today you will be in Paradise with me."
Luke 23:39-43
THE THIRD WORD
Standing close to jesus' cross were his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there; so he said to his mother, "Woman, here is your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Here is your mother." And from that time the disciple took her to live in his home.
John 19:25-27
THE FOURTH WORD
And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Elo-i, elo-i, lama sabach-thani?" which means, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
Mark 15:33-34
THE FIFTH WORD
After this jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the scripture0, "I thirst."
John 19:28
THE SIXTH WORD
A bowl was there, full of cheap wine mixed with vinegar, so a sponge was soaked in it, put on hyssop and lifted up to his lips. When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished."
John 19:29-30
THE SEVENTH WORD
Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit!" And having said this he breathed his last.
Luke 23:46

Original Clash of the Titans

This is the original poster for the 1981 version of Clash of the Titans made by Bill Gold. I was not aware that the movie which will be shown on April 3 is a remake so I decided to watch the original just so I can have a background on what this movie is all about.

Turns out this is a  fantasy adventure film based on the myth of Perseus.I must say that despite the cheesy effects, the performance of the actors are enough to keep my eyes glued to the screen.Plus who could resist watching a classic movie like this one when the actor who played Perseus really looks like a God and the actress cast as Andromeda looked like an angel who came down from the heavens.

It will be interesting to see if the remake would have the same spontaneity as the original because I adore the way it has been told without technology distracting the audience from the story.
