Karma?

I just wanted to warn everyone from this multiply seller. I have ordered a pair of contact lens from her and paid for my order on Oct 3rd. I have constantly asked her about the status of my order and she said that she is still processing it. The last time that I have asked and received the same reply was on Nov 4. It is now Nov 20 and still no contact lens.

This is so frustrating and to think that she has a premium account.I have ordered from her before so I didn't think that this could happen to me. Sign :( I am still hoping though. Is this karma since I have placed an order from another site and I will just pay for it tomorrow after I promised that I will pay on Nov 4th? Sigh :(

Another bad day

I am so not in a good today. I just got a warning for my flat shoes during our dress down and then I found out that a certain co worker of mine is trying to spread some rumors about me, good thing my friends don't believe it. Then when I got home, I found out that my brother is using the kindle that I can't use because I cant charge it. When I asked my dad about it, he said that he doesn't need to ask my permission since I am not using the thing anyway. Seriously, he gets mad when his things are taken without asking for his approval then I will get that stupid excuse.

I'll just sleep it off then before I blow I am seriously tempted to get his things and then throw that stupid excuse on his face. Arrrrghhh.

Dead Tired with very good news

Just got back from my yoga class and I am so freaking tired. Our instructor got us to do advanced stuff with me pretty much looking like a human frog with my face kissing the floor.Didn't really know that i was that flexible till I was able to assume the position with our instructor holding me in place.

I also got some very good news from my boss. With Thanksgiving drawing near, I don't have to go work on the 24th and the 25th wooohoo.Long week end for me. And then there is a possibility that I will also be at home on the 26th of Dec and Jan 2nd of next year. I am so loving my account right now hehehe.

Anyways i'll be catching some zzzzs so see yah tomorrow again and I apologize if I wasn't able to blog yesterday. Internet was down for some reason but I'm glad that it's kinda ok now. Better than nothing right :P

Craving for Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings

I am a chickenarian (someone who never gets tired of eating chicken dishes) so if you have been known me for quite some time, it is but normal for me to crave it everyday. I have been browsing earlier looking for something worth while to read when I came across this

To think that I just promised myself that I'll go on a diet. Tsk tsk bad internet!
Anyways since we are talking about this particular dish. I researched this yummy treat and found out that this originated from Buffalo New York. This is usually the wing part of the chicken that is fried with out any breading and then coated with  a vinegar-based cayenne hot pepper sauce  plus butter.Traditionally it is served with celery sticks plus blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Haven't seen any celery sticks on Shakey's when we tried out their version of this sumptuous treat but they do have the blue cheese dressing where we can dip these in.Though I wasn't that impressed when i first tried it , I'll cross my fingers and hope that the next restaurant serving buffalo wings will change my mind and make this next in line to my all time favorite KFC .

The Gates

I just watched this series a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with  it. Who would find a show that has a succubus, vampires, werewolves, witches all rolled into one. Involving a human oblivious to the secrets of this community made this show much more complex and set it apart from other supernatural themed series.

Too bad though that ABC decided to cancelled the show just as Charlie's character has been a giving a makeover. There are a lot of interesting plots playing in my mind if there had been another season, they would have delved deeper on the other characters and how they found the Gates or they can just continue on what had happened to Charlie and how Devan's plot will come into play, that sure will be a shocker and will add a whole new twist on the already complicated lives of the residents.

New Yoga book

During one of our skype sessions with my mom. She showed us a yoga book that she ordered and I was ecstatic because the book is currently on my "wishlist". It was Tara Stiles's book Slim Calm Sexy Yoga, since I want to be slim, sexy(rawr!) and calm then I figured that this would really help me without resorting to diet pills and starving myself to death.

I have found some pictures showing some of the chapters included on this book and I am satisfied to see that she has included basic poses and some variations to those to maximize the benefits that the reader can get.

In this picture she shows a variation to the usual downward dog position that makes use of the core. I would imagine that the variation done will help tone the arms and legs since not only will you use your core to maintain the position, you will also need to straighten your legs.

The standing leg extension will require utmost concentration and also helps strengthen your leg muscles but with the added twist on the variation, this may also help burn fats around the waist.

When I searched this book on Amazon, it has a whooping 52 reviews and has been rated 5 stars by those who bought the book together with her dvds. If this chapter is as good as the other sections of the book then I could very much understand why it was such a hit. This will help me out a great deal on my yoga classes and I can now try to practice on my own with this as my reference. Now if only my mom would remember to order this one for me as a Christmas present :P

stressed=cracked nail polish

Now I know why they call it Manic Monday.Whew. Had to do reports while answering email asking for password resets and clients asking me to double check the data for last weeks reports. To top it all off, the most important report that I would need to complete was not done because the data I need is not yet available.

So I was able to leave the office an hour after my log out time. While I was near my place, I chanced upon our local store selling nail polish. Cracked Nail polishes to be exact. I have been wanting one for a long time now and since I am not in the mood to stay up late so that I can pay my purchases at the bank, I bought two colors, orange ( more like pale orange) and baby pink.

I tested it out and this is what it kinda looks like although I didn't use a base so it kinda just looks like your regular baby pink polish that I didn't do correctly LOL. I was so excited to see it cracked so I lack the usual patience I have.

I browsed online and saw a lot of variations so maybe i'll try it out next time with silver, black or white. Will take a picture of it when I have all those colors.

For now , I have to go to sleep. See yah! :)

Practicing Yoga

I have been dying (not literally though) to try Yoga  for quite some time  so when I saw a coupon for 150 pesos session a couple of months ago, I bought 4 coupons to try it out and was hooked! I have just finished a class card meaning 12 sessions and will begin a new class card next week.

These are some of the positions that we are doing in class. It doesn't include the back bending and the more challenging ones but then again the posters I found online does not match what we are doing.

When I first started, I haven't been able to do most of properly. I did shortcuts and couldn't concentrate on holding a position for long. Now I can say that I can hold a position as long as I clear my mind of everything and just be aware of what I am doing. What I can't do though is a head stand

The last session I have, our instructor had us try the head stand once again. It was hard and I have this annoying tendency to lean too much and put my chest out too much. I'll try to do it better next time and hopefully I can hold it long enough.

Off to read

Just got my November issues for Women's Health and Cosmo and I am loving the articles that they have.
I have been collecting Cosmo since 2000 so you could imagine how many of these babies I have in my closet. To answer your question, too many to count so I gave the oldest issues away to my  neighbors.

Loving their article about jeans and since my black one just gave out, now I know what to shop for and what to pair them with :)

Haven't read all of the articles yet since I was distracted by the jeans section that they have showcased.

This is the other magazine that I got hooked on.I have started to collect them last 2009 because I wanted to modify my lifestyle into something healthier.Friends always tease me about being diet conscious or something to that effect. But then again it doesn't hurt to be cautious on what to eat and to make sure that we try to exercise as much as we can. After all we are not getting any younger so might as well change for the better before it's too late.

I was intrigued on their article on how I can lose 5, 10,5 or 20 pounds and now I am thinking when I can do the exercises that are illustrated. Some looks easy enough while some looks ummm challenging.

I'll be reading them now after this post since I have just  skimmed sections of it while I was in the office. So see yah tomorrow!

Groupons, Online deals etc

You probably have noticed the rise of online sites featuring vouchers for various gadgets, tickets and services. Cashcashpinoy, dealdozen, Megadeals to name a few are some of the sites that are really popular today. I am not sure who was the genius behind this or when it started but then again I just woke up ( not literally though)that they are all over the place.

To clarify, I am not endorsing any of them. The last time that I have tried availing one of the vouchers offered there was a couple of months ago and I didn't regret it. Up until now, I still go to the place that I have discovered because of that site.

Some of the advantages of looking into the sites are the following

  • Discounts--Most of them have discounts up until 80% for services, gadgets and vacation  packages. Now who could resist those things right?
  • Discover new places to explore, shop or eat at ---- if you're a KFC fan (ehem!) and is on the verge of growing your own set of chicken wings at your back, then you can have the capability to now try new restos, or if you always shop at the Jag store then you can now try going to Levis :)
  • Save and Splurge at the same time-- I know it's ironic to find those two words together but then again if your usual facial ranges from 400 to 500 and you can get it for half the price then you are successful  on this one :)

If there are good things then to be fair, I will also need to explain the disadvantages just so you know what you're getting into LOL

  • Budget for the week/month/year will be ruined----if it's not planned and it's just something you wanted to try out of the blue then you may end up spending the cash that you have allotted for next week thereby making you financially crippled for some time.
  • It might not be worth it after  all-- If you have been lured there by the pics and testimonials only to find out it's far from what it says on the site. You have just been duped girl and no money back service as well if you are not satisfied. You bought it and paid for it so it's a done deal.
So now that I have explained the good and the bad side of those sites. What I can say is that take advantage of the discounts that you can fit on your budget.Be very wise on choosing which deal you think is worth it. If it's something that is renowned to have good feedback from regular cust then go ahead and avail it.If you have your doubts and the deal seems too good to be true then research research and research.

Gaga over NBS

I always have this habit of browsing over the 3 big *B's online sites ( bookstores) during my spare time.Anticipating as to which of them would be the first to release the books that I am drooling over on Amazon. Call me a book worm or a nerd but I always get that giddy feeling when browsing for new books to read and then finding out that they are sold locally and I could be one of the first few who will get to read it. Heaven!
So if you happen to be on a internet shop and hear someone suddenly laugh out loud and say "YES!". It might just be me, finding out my vampire book is available in one of our local bookstores.

My favorite bookstore for now is National Bookstore. Every time I go there,I would always find a book that I thought would not come for a few months and the best part is somehow I would be the lucky one who finds books with incorrect barcodes.

There was this one time that I saw a hardbound copy Morgannville Ghost Town on one of their shelves. When i turned it around to check the price. My jaw literally dropped for a couple of minutes. It's price tag is 285 pesos!!!!  So i grabbed it right away and made my way to the cashier. Since I am  the first to buy that book. They gave it to me at that price tag.

The other day on NBS, I found a copy of the next book on the Morganville Series with another case of an incorrect Barcode. Two of them actually, but then again 399 pesos is somewhat the amount i usually pay  for a paperback version. When I paid for it at the cashier, it was then that i found out that it was supposed to be 406 pesos. Maybe I should apply for Book Keeping since this is the 2nd time. LOL

So my advice to those book addicts like me, be vigilant in searching for the books that you want. Be it on NBS, FB or on PB.You'll never know what you'll find and the price may not be as you expect it to be.

Happy Reading :P

Moving on

I was rummaging my inbox for something to read and i came across an article written by Paulo Coelho. It deals with closing chapters of your life that you think is not working anymore and you're just dragging it in the hopes that it will be back to it's original state.

In short *chuckles* it deals with learning how to move on. Yeah i know that a lot of articles already tackled that topic but it doesn't hurt to listen to the advise of someone that is not only famous but can provide a guy's opinion on how you overcome something like this.

Here are some excerpts that i think we girls should do to get out of this emotional state :)

"One always has to know when a stage comes to an end.

If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through. Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won’t take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that.

None of us can be in the present and the past at the same time, not even when we try to understand the things that happen to us. What has passed will not return: we cannot for ever be children, late adolescents, sons that feel guilt or rancor towards our parents, lovers who day and night relive an affair with someone who has gone away and has not the least intention of coming back.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts - and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood. Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the “ideal moment.” Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person - nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust.

Stop being who you were, and change into who you are"

I am a woman

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said, "When I made the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Major Mistake

This was shared by a friend of mine. I can somehow relate to it so i posted this on my Facebook wall. Hope the guys out there don't make this kind of mistake.

Boy: I broke up with her.

His Best Friend: What happened?

Boy: She’s just too much for me.

His Best Friend: What makes you say that? What did she do wrong?

Boy: Well, …for one.. She only cared about her appearance. Always had to look good, always took forever to get dressed! So insecure..

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she wanted to keep your eyeslocked on her? She wanted you to see that you have the prettiest girl under your sleeve and not think otherwise? I see..

Boy: Oh.. Well.. She’d often call me or text me asking where I am, who I’m with, telling me not to smoke, not to drink. She’s so clingy!

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she cares about your well being? Because she cares about you a lot? And her greatest fear is losing you. I see..

Boy: But.. Uhh.. Well, she’d always cry when I say something slightly mean. She can’t handle anything. She’s a crybaby!

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she has feelings? And because she just wanted to hear you say you love her? I see..

Boy: I.. Well! You know, she’d get jealous easily. I could barely talk to other girls! She’s so annoying! I had to hide it from her.

His Best Friend: So, you broke her heart because she just wanted you to commit to her? She thought you were faithful, but you lied so she could find out later and hurt even more? She just wanted the guy she loves the most to love only her. I
see..
Boy: Well, she..
His Best Friend: You broke up with her because she’s good for you? She just wanted the best for you? She’s broken now because you were selfish. Are you proud?

Boy: I broke her heart.. Because I couldn’t see what was happening.. What happened to me?
His Best Friend: You lost the girl that loved you like no one else could. You see? You didn’t want her when all she ever wanted was you. THAT’S what happened..
