Happy New Year

I cant believe its the last day of 2009. How time flies. Oh yes,i owe you guys a story oh how the reunion went with my cousins.Well it was fun, i thought i would be bored just like last last year however it was different this time.My cousins were there talking to me and it turns out there are planning a lot of trips next year. They will go to Pagudpod on march,May they will be on Marinduque and on November they are planning to go to Hongkong. Man i wish i could go with them on one of those trips, i'm not really sure if i will have work on those times but ill sure try.

I didn't tell them that I've been kicked out of my job but i just told them that i resigned.I'm kinda ashamed that i'm out of job while they still have one.

To go on with the story, they imitated a game show that they've seen on tv.One needs to guess the word written on the cardboard taped on his head by asking questions, then another one will sit directly in front of the guesser to answer those questions.

It was really funny because we know the answer is right in front of them.We howled by the time that the guesses were really close to the answer. The tips given by my other cousins were really hilarious, saying that the answer is the guessers favorite. But when we asked, it wasn't on the list of th guessers favorite.

The food was delicious and though i tasted everything there, it didn't make me full. I was hungry by the time we got home and craving for something else.

It was a fun night except for all that shouting and singing of Korean songs all through out the evening. Though i don't have anything against Korean music, it just gave me a migraine since it was played full blast and i'm just besides the speaker.

Once we said our goodbyes to everyone surprisingly those who came all the way from Cavite also decided to leave and call it a day.

It was a great night to say the least. Anyways Happy New Year to all.Gotta help with the food preparations.

Mwah!

I owe you one

See yah tomorrow mwah!

a birthday bash with a scare on the side.

As promised, i went to the birthday bash of a very good friend held in Cuba Libre somewhere in Shaw Boulevard. Since i wasnt able to eat before going out, we first went to eat dinner in Shangrila Mall. The place is nearly vacant except for us and some others whom i think is still trying to complete their Christmas gift list.

We decided to eat Wendys and i ordered a spicy chicken meal while they ordered in a burger meal. The meal didn't really satisfied my cravings and my hunger but off we went to to bar for the birthday bash. We greeted our friend and i sat beside my friends best friend to catch up on what is going on with her.

After a couple of minutes, drinks were ordered along with a couple of plates of sisig. I'm not really a drinker so i just opted for a glass of iced tea. Pictures were taken cosmo style and i switched seats to be on the action as well.

We talked about everything and anything that caught our attention including the singer whom we all thought was a hooker since she has a very very short dress or a stand up comedian because of the weird way she laughs.

I think the party ended around 12 midnight and then we tried searching for a new place to hang out preferably Starbucks. Since it was Sunday, most of their branches are closed saved for their branch in Metrowalk. So we split up, the birthday girl going home to sleep while the others still have work in a couple of hours leaving me and my two friends.

We boarded a taxi and luckily found seats for ourselves. We ordered a much needed fix of their delicious coffee to chase away the sleepiness and a croissant since im hungry.

We talked, laughed and swap stories about the love, life and the friendship we have up until now not to mention the hurt, pain and realities of falling in love with a wrong guy or trusting someone whom you thought is your friend.

When it was past 5am, we decided to take our leave but not before posing for another picture just like above*i'm the one in the middle by the way hehehhe. We walked from Metrowalk to Megamall whew all the while reminiscing how fantastic the day went for us.

Suddenly when we are about to cross the street , we saw someone lying unconscious on the ground. His shoes were far away from him and his things scattered all over the place. A couple of bystanders walked to the man, examining him and shouted for help. A traffic enforcer came by and some other curious motorist stop by the scene.

It seemed that the man was a victim of a hit and run by a jeepney. It was 6am at that time and we found ourselves unable to cross the street fearing the same could happen to us. A cigarette vendor helped us cross the street, signalling for motorist to stop so we can make our way on the other side. We also asked him directions on how to get to mega mall since we were distracted by what we saw.

We proceeded with caution after thanking the vendor .We resumed our girlish talks and continued walking on the direction he pointed to us. After i think 15 minutes of walking,we reached our destination and since i live on the north and other one in Cavite. We parted ways while me and my other friend got on a bus bound for Monumento.

Since i was not able to eat a proper breakfast, i was nauseous by the time we boarded the bus so i was quiet at the time. When i got home i texted my bf letting him know im safe and home then slept.I woke up around 2pm in the afternoon.I was supposed to meet a friend but then thats another story to tell.

Till tomorrow then Mwah!

Weird Love

I was reading through the things that my friends posted on Facebook and found a weird quote that summed up what i feel about some things in general. It says

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.

I was laughing when i read it because i completely agree with this quote. Everybody has their share of weirdness and at some point we envision someone who can accept us for what we really are, without hiding anything at all. I admit that i am weird at some point and i was afraid that i would just be alone but then again i found someone who shares that quality.

I found someone who kinda surpasses my weirdness and wears it like a badge of honor. Someone who delights in being different and unique and weird.

I felt really happy because its hard to find someone who has the same aspirations and dreams just like i am.Now i wont be alone, someone would be there for me to back me up all the way. There is someone that can relate to what i am feeling weird or not and will always love me for what i really am.

So how about you guys have you found your weird love ?

Hats off to the Bloggers

I've just recently been reintroduced to blogging by my Tp friends and though i have been blogging way way back, it was just now that i have been actively posting everyday. It was nerve wracking in a way because i have to think of something interesting to blog about. Let me tell since i am just here at home, you can imagine how boring my life is, stuck here everyday.

Since i have a lot of ads to click and PTC sites to visit, i have glimpsed a lot of interesting blogs everyday .I must say i am amazed on their creativity, their patience as well on their skill just to make their blog very interesting to those who visit. I usually get stuck to their page reading something that i thought i would never find. If not for the time limit i have on the pc , (i share the pc with my dad and bro) i would have spent my day browsing every one of them.

So i would just like to salute all the active bloggers out there who makes blogging something to be proud of .Those who rack their brains everyday to bring laughter and something new online. For the new gadgets, information and widgets that they find and share to everybody to make blogging exciting and easy.

They have continued to inspire me to work harder and to make my blog as interesting and as good as it can be.Keep blogging guys!!!

Experimental Gelatin

Remember that I've told you guys that were going to make gelatin yesterday.Well we did and the first time was so bad that we decided to just throw some of it and make a new one. We bought the ready to mix powder type about ten pesos each and decided that we would try out the grape flavor first.

We mix it with the 6 cups of water and then added evaporated milk and sugar in it. Stirred it and put it in the stove to boil. The color was very weird, you know the color of the water you used to clean your dishes and then there are bubbles of soap, that was how it looked like. We tried to taste it however we were kinda grossed out on what it turned out plus with my brother laughing so hard.I didn't get to analyze the taste of it.For me it tasted weird.

We tried it the 2nd time and tried the strawberry flavor. It looked normal enough but we havent tasted it yet. It is still in the freezer waiting to be tasted. Any volunteers? lol

New microwave finally!

Finally i can have my food reheated without putting it in a pot and heating it through the stove. The problem is i have to drag the extension cord from the sala down to the kitchen ahahaha. Anyways, we decided to get an American Home microwave Oven for 2,750 pesos versus the LG microwave that retails for 3,000 pesos.

It kinda looks like the picture above except for it being white and brand new lol. After our dad brought it home, we were like children with a new toy to play with. We bought a microwaveable popcorn earlier so we immediately put it inside and watch the popcorn bag expand and the popcorns pop.

When we open the popcorn bag, we smelled how delicious it is and attacked it with gusto. I think we ate all of it within 5 minutes or so. We combined eating the popcorn with m and m chocolates to combat the salty taste.

We're already getting excited on what other things we can heat on the microwave and im happy that i can finally heat my pizzas on a "microwave" yipeeee.

Anyways ill be trying my hand on those gelatins and i hope that it will be edible *crossing fingers* If not theres always a pain killer on the kitchen. hmm maybe i should get it ready just in case ahahaha. Wish me luck guys hehehhe

Till next time :P

We're suppose to watch a movie earlier but i was kinda feeling tired so i guess we'll try to watch avatar tomorrow.

Anyways i gotta log out for now to watch a replay of American Idol. yipee

Stressed out

Since im out of job for a couple of weeks now.I remembered how stressful it is to be at home . For starters, since im here 24/7 what i do on the net is seen and for them it seems like a pathetic way to spend time on. I am again a subject of their criticisms like i need to do something useful for a change in my life. I need to change my boyfriend since a. he doesnt have the good looks that they wanted b. he doesnt show any effort to get to know them and c. he is out of work just like me.

I also need to have a dream.Since right now for them, i don't have any.I think for them to consider that i have a dream, i would need to have the yearning to go abroad. Umm yeah riiiiiight.I know being a parent means hoping for the best for their children. However i am getting tired of this "phrase" being thrown in my face every time. Maybe the news can have a headline like "recession hit every country in the world so wherever you go people are losing jobs" so they can get the hint.

Sure i have dreams of my own however due to me being the eldest i have this responsibility to help my family and give them half of my paycheck everytime i get my pay.

I have to think of my family first before i do something else.

As a girl i need to learn how to cook. I need to look like an innocent being that is void of green thoughts and impurities. I also have the responsibility to look for a boyfriend who they think will look good when im beside him.Someone who will be here everyday and be at my beck and call. Someone who will shower me gifts, compliments and has a lot of money.

Having a prince charming like that, yeah that would be cool. However i am not a Disney princess that is in dire need for a prince charming. I have my own money, i don't need and want a guy to hang around with me all day like he has no life of his own. I already met guys like that and it is so suffocating that i ran for the nearest exit.

So when can i think of myself and for myself...your guess is as good as mine.

Reunion with my Cosmo friends

Sorry i wasnt able to blog yesterday. There was a surprise get together and since i haven't seen those guys for a couple of months, I've decided to meet up with them in Trinoma which ended at Gateway in cubao.

Its funny really, all our meetings somehow starts and ends with coffee. I often joke that it is our official sponsor and that it would be lonesome if we don't have any cafe to go to.If walls can talk , i bet every branch of Starbucks, Gloria jeans or coffee bean have a lot of stories to tell on those encounters and since its cosmo its something that is bound to be Rated PG or 18 lol

Anyways, It was as usual, filled with laughter with me mostly thinking about something else (read: greenminded) and me eating chicken (again?!) Ive missed how we have this connection, all talking at the same time, laughters that i think will be heard all throughout the cafe, gossiping about the latest girl that's making us all pissed off and the latest carnal or green thing that we have heard.

I was astonished that the issues that happened eons ago is still being talked about as if it happened just yesterday. I found myself on the hot seat as some old but very popular issue was brought to a table and i think that i may have been red as a tomato at that time.

Meeting somebody new and knowing that she too knows about it makes me think that i am being measured from head to toe. Its like i'm naked and she is there seeing everything. I'm not really sure what she is thinking now that she met me and have seen how i reacted to those issues.

I bet my life that it will somehow come to the attention of somebody else therefore making an old news new again. Oh well i guess it will be a part of everyday gossip...As one of my friends say, While you're young, do something foolish so when you grow old, you have something to laugh about. I think this is one of those things that i should just laugh about.

Getting Bloody with Dinuguan

Since you know my favorite dish, let me introduce you to my second most favorite dish. Dinuguan. It is called pork stew in English and consists of the blood and meat of a pig.

Yeah i know it sounded kinda gross when i describe it like that but let me tell you that it tasted like chicken? heck no , no it will taste delicious that i can promise you. When i usually request it to be cooked here at home, i would want to taste the vinegar that they laced it with because if it doesn't, it will very much like look and taste like batchoy. Some would like it to be partnered with rice cakes while i like to eat it with my rice whether it is lunch, dinner or even breakfast.

Some of the places that served cheap but good dinuguan meals are located in the malls. My most favorite is Kamay Kainan located at the Food Court of SM Malls, you have the option to either have the dinuguan meal with rice and vegetables or just the dinuguan served in a bowl.
I would recommend the one with rice already so it will only cost you just 100 pesos including the large iced tea that you will be getting.

My next fave is Tropical Hut which also serve this dish .The cost for this including the drinks will be less than 100 pesos. It will be served in a small bowl enough to satisfy your cravings plus with rice and drinks of course.

The next option that you have would be to go to Goldilocks. They also serve this dish though the price tag is not that cheap unlike the other two I've mentioned. It will probably cost you more than a hundred pesos but if you're so hungry and this is the only place that you can think of then go. Rice and drinks are sold separately on this one.

I have also heard a different kind of dinuguan which i have been longing to taste ever sine i saw it on TV . They call it crispy dinuguan wherein instead of the pork being soft as it is on the typical dinuguan meal, it will be crispy just like Lechon Kawali.

Since the place serving it is located in Santa Rosa Laguna and i'm here in caloocan sigh. I think i may have to think of a way to recreate this dish at home.By searching the net, i found the recipe

Let’s start with Lechon Kawali

3/4 kilo pork pork belly (or liempo)
4 garlic cloves, crushed
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon peppercorns
salt
water, for boiling
oil (for deep fat frying)

Instructions for cooking Lechon Kawali

1. Cut the pork belly into serving pieces.

2. Mix crushed garlic, peppercorn, bay leaf, salt and water in a sauce pan.

3. Boil and simmer until skin is tender, around 30 to 40 minutes.

4. Drain, cool and dry well before frying to minimize splatters.

5. Deep fry the pork belly pieces until golden brown and the blisters show on the skin. Set aside.

Let’s now prepare for the Dinuguan

Cooked Lechon Kawali (see above)
1/4 kilo minced pork liver
2/3 cup native vinegar
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon crushed peppercorn
1 small garlic, minced
1/2 cup pork blood (refrigerate until ready to use)
1 1/2 cups water
2 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon patis
2 large hot peppers (siling haba not labuyo)
salt to taste

Puto as side dish

Let’s cook the dinuguan

1. Chop coagulated blood. Mince the liver and season with a little salt. Set aside separately.

2. Mix vinegar, onion, pepper, and pork blood all together in a sauce pan. Blend well and bring to a boil.

3. As soon as the mixture is boiling, add water, sugar and patis.

4. Drop in the minced liver and hot peppers to the mixture. Simmer for 5 more minutes then add the Lechon Kawali. Mix just enough to coat the Lechon Kawali pieces. Don’t overcook or the crispiness will be gone.

5. Add salt to taste but this is optional. Remember the Lechon Kawali is already salty and may make the dinuguan even saltier.

Note that the dinuguan consistency depends on your preference. For Crispy Dinuguan, I prefer it to have a thick consistency like the photo shown above.

Best served with puto or plain rice.

Serves 6

Sore all Over

Remember that i told you guys yesterday that our Nintendo Wii arrived yesterday? Well we tried almost every game there up until dinner time and my hands are shaking when i tried lifting my spoon to eat.

The boxing game was fun and knocking my bro and my dad twice in a row is even more hilarious . With all the feet movement and jabbing that I've done for 30 minutes , my arms felt heavy and up until now i can still feel a little bit of pain when i tried to move around.

We also played bowling, baseball and canoeing. Bowling is a cool game and since my dad plays bowling in real life, he cant help but join in the fun when we played. He scored a couple of strikes and some nice spares wherein my brother scored last when the scores were announced at the end of the game.

When the time comes that we tried baseball, i was being striked out when i was that batter.Quite tiring really. Canoeing ....well don't ask. Since i don't have any sense of direction whatsoever, i always find myself out of the trail and into the other side.

I'm now interested on finding out how much Wii Fit will cost me since I've been hearing a lot of good reviews about it. Will also try to look for a Wii version of Monster Hunter since my boyfriend loves playing that on his PSP.

Anyways its time to play again.hehheehe

Finally Our Nintendo Wii Arrived

Since my mom is convinced that we, her children is in serious need of some sort of exercise. She bought us a Nintendo Wii game console, with extra remote control and nanchucks. She also added some games like Nintendo Resort, though im not really sure what the heck we will be doing on that game.

Right now they're practically ripping off the plastic so they can configure it to work. This will probably be my shortest blog entry ever since theyre already forcing me to leave.

I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow when they're done biting each other's heads off over this. ahahahhaa

Theres nothing like chicken to brighten up my day

Chicken is my comfort food and whenever i am feeling sad and low, i often try and search for restaurants or fastfood that serve chicken meals. My friends joked that i should have wings right now since all they see me eat is chicken. If you see me eating anything else, then theres something really awfully wrong with me. Just kidding lol

KFC is my favorite fastfood chain that serves chicken hot and crispy. Imagine the skin actually gives out a crunch sound when you sink your teeth into it and then the spicy flavor creeping in yuor tongue, making you reach for the nearest ice tea drink that you have in the table. It makes my mouth water just imagining it and my feet would automatically walk to the nearest KFC branch.

If im just hungry then i order the usual chicken meal consisting of one piece of hot and crispy chicken, rice, gravy and a regular iced tea drink.
If im really hungry then i would order up a Fully Loaded meal.It consists of one piece of hot and crispy chicken, rice, mushroom soup, macaroni salad, brownies and one regular drink .

Their gravy plus the spicy chicken is a winning combination ,it sometimes makes me think that I've gone to heaven already and would leave a smile in my face after i finished it all up. Plus its not that expensive, so if youre craving for some chicken lovin then go straight ahead to KFC .The long line will be worth it once you get your meal.

Also if the girl on the counter says that legs and wings are the only piece available, don't settle for it. Say something like this . "How many minutes for the big part ?" They would ask those who cook and they will request for a bigger part just for you. Works like a charm every time.

My wishlist

Since Christmas is the season for giving and getting presents *cross fingers* ive listed some of the things that i would want to have as presents or something that i would want to give to myself hehehe.

i already have the first 3 books and i love it so much that i would love to read the rest of this addicting series.I havent seen the tv adaptation yet since i like to finish the rest of the books before comparing it to the adaptation.

It is very different from the Twilight Series and from the Morganville Series (yeah i know im addicted to vampires right now lol) that it deserves its very own spot on my book shelf.

This one of the earlier works of Charlaine Harris and since i love her True blood Series ,i would love to get my hands on this book and check if this is as exciting as the Series.

Ive seen the hardcover version of the book and it costs 999.00 pesos gasps! versus this one that only costs about 800 plus pesos.

Ive regretted that i haven't grabbed it when I've seen it at National Bookstore because I've just recently been there and its gone *sob*

Mini Led light clip on for Books

I have seen it being sold on Powerbooks and on FullyBooked and since i didnt have any luck finding any image on the net, i might as well just describe it. Its a mini lamp that i can clip on my book so i can read without having to turn on my room's light, which will be seen by my dad resulting to me having to turn it off and try to sleep.

Yeah, im an insomniac so if i cant sleep i'll probably try to reread a book from my collection of romantic, supernational and kinda erotic books.

So anyways these are some of the Most wanted gifts that i would want and if someone is kind enough to give it to me as present ......Just kidding hehehe... im sounding desperate am i ?....
Man i need to sleep this off.

Advance Merry Xmas everybody !!!! Mwah

Realizations

I have just attended the christening of the child of my very good friend. We haven't seen in each other in a while and i found that nothing has changed in her appearance except for the fact that she has a brand new accessory, her cute 3 month old baby girl.

The baby's eyes are the same as her father's though the arch of her brow plus the way she pucker her lips when is pissed reminds me very much of my friend.I found myself looking at her every move and slipping my finger on her hands just to see if she will grab it and boy she looks cute when she yawns.

My friend keeps hugging her child, nuzzling her neck, smelling her underarms and then suddenly whispered that shes happy she got a cute girl now.I just chuckled and agreed with her.In my mind, i wondered if i would say the exact same thing when i have my own.

You see i am not that thrilled to have a child of my own.Seeing my cousin shout at the top of her lungs to her son is certainly not an enticing picture to look at and learning how my mother's knee is growing weaker due to her babysitting job.Well it just made me cross that path even more.

It was only a couple of years that i warmed up to the idea of imagining myself being a mother. Seeing my friends marrying and having a baby one after the other got me into thinking that i should be in the stage too.

Plus seeing how enthralled my friend is with her baby girl made me think even more and without me realizing it , I've begun analyzing the state of my life right now.I begun wondering if i will eventually marry my boyfriend, have a baby and blissfully say that being a mom completes me and is the most wonderful job of all. (yeah right lol)

Maybe I'm just affected by the hugging and surrounded by all those adorable girls and boys, who wouldn't think about it right. They're like interactive dolls with the softest skin, adorable goo goo eyes and the most heartwarming smile.

However just as fast as i begun thinking about those things, a clearer state of mind eventually took over and i realized that i'm not ready for that kind of responsibility. Sure I've begun to want one for my own and in my mind i think my boyfriend is "The One" , however you have to give everything you've got for your child and how can i if i am not sure of so many things.

Sure ive always placed everyone else's need before my own however if i take the plunge now when will i have a chance to attend to my own needs and wants. When will i be able to indulge myself and have my pay all to myself.

I guess i still have a lot of unfinished businesses to attend so for now i 'll just content myself on being the tita/ninang of an adorable baby girl.
